On the each way (ew) bets you get a reduced payout if the player doesn't win but finishes in the top four or five, depending upon the bet. I think that's right, Skinny D can fill you in. Angel finished T4.

I think you meant inside 10 feet. Tiger was something like 54 out of 55 putts within 10 feet. Missing only one putt from outside 10 feet over a tourney is impossible.

Regarding each-way placings, have you any idea what the worth of an extra (6th) place would be, still at 1/4 odds? Just wondering if you have a simple way of deciding whether to take a shorter price for a payout on 6th place.

Haven't really considered it - I usually shop for the biggest outright price and then take what's on offer for that book on the place, ie top four or top 5 finish. Would be interesting to compare, if I had time I'd do a compilation on the major books and what they offer, but alas work gets in the way most days.

Skinny Dynamite, you play at Betfair at all?

I could never get a Betfair account but I played the golf markets at Tradesports while they were still in operation. Those in-running win markets were unbelievable cash cows - with loads of liquidity (particularly in the majors) and PLENTY of opportunities (which come up much more often when you are allowed to short, and make your own prices).

My absolute favorite strategy was to short multiple golfers at margin (which Tradesports allowed you to do, since they only froze worst-case loss and only one golfer could win the tournament). You could literally build a portfolio containing dozens of golfers - and turn over hundreds of shares over the course of the event.

Not sure if Betfair allows this - but if they do, with your knowledge, I'm sure you could make thousands fairly quickly. It might be worth a shot.
