when i was in vegas on oct 14th, i noticed 2 progressive slot machines that stopped adding to there jackpots....1 stopped @ 9999 (bank of nickels w/ 12 machines) & the other was a solo machine.. 99,999 (bet 3 quarters) . i asked a change girl why & she said it happens & no big deal...anyhow....i retuned to the same downtown casino on may 13th & both progressive's still had not been hit...i was SHOCKED......we have no casino's here in ohio so perhaps i'm way off base ..but..... 2 different smallish progressive's not to hit in over 8 month's?......you gotta be kidding me!!!!!.......bish

Isn't it possible they were hit and just got built back up...

It's either that or maybe they just don't get a whole lot of play.

I've always wondered about those spinning numbers above the progressive slot machines, some spinning so fast you'd think they were being powered by 1000 hamsters in one giant hamster wheel.

Are those numbers legit or are they just part of the hype? I check on one particular sign everytime I go into this place, and it's always 11 million and something. Never seems to be twelve million or 4 million or whatever.

Does somebody adjust the numbers back in the dark of night, so the sign can respin the same numbers each day?

i go to vegas 5 times a year, so i end up walking by this machine alot, ( hard not to notice )........ & have noticed the solo qrt machine takes forever to get to 99,999, so i dont think it was hit.....i never play the stupid thing,.....i also failed to state what was crazy, was the casino taking the money that should be building the progressive higher than the 99,999.......the casino keeps all the money that over the 99,999? that doesn't seem fair....... oh well.....i guess i was just cureous of how that could happen..........change of subject......have any of you gents been to the 09 wsop ?......is attendence good?.........THNX for the replies ! GOOD LUCK bish

I'm still out of town, next Friday will be my first event, but the 40k got a good # of players, and the LO8 event that started yesterday had almost a 10% increase from last year's field. (Oddly enough the winner from last year is the CL after day one LOL... Fcking luckbox)

We'll see what the turnout is for today's 1k - they didn't have this event last year, but it should be a decent indicator of what the interest level will be for the remainder of the series I think compared to last year's first 1500. Personally I think attendance will be up across the board compared to last year.

Hit the 3,000 cap for today, would doubt to see that many again tomorrow for Day 1B, but possible.

For reference, the first 1500NL last year (Saturday event, only comparable event last year) had <4000 total entrants.

I don't think you're referencing me...I guess that's good.

There's a bank of machines in Gold Coast that you see ahead of you when walking in from the east parking garage. Ive never seen it at anything but $999,999.99 in the past couple years. I just assumed they made that the fixed top jackpot. Just displayed on a big screen at the top of a bank like a progressive.

Progressives are usually set to divert anywhere from .1% to 3% of coin-in to the
progressive meter. When you see a machine has hit it's cap that almost always is
a half million spin cycle or more to hit the jackpot. Many times a casino will move progressive money over to a bank of tough to hit machines. That's pretty much to
store it there till they figure out where they want to really put it. By law all progressive
meter money must be eventually given to the players so sooner or later they move
it to something with a reasonable jackpot cycle. Either that or they use it as promotional money for a drawing and just give it out that way.
