Lots of value to shoot for today. Be creative in your wagering. Even short price horses can offer value in the verticals in days like today.
Of course things can change when they get on the track, but here's a general idea of what I'll be looking at today:
Race 1
#13 Judge Kent looks like the horse to beat. Best horse w/ the best set up as he should be sitting off a contested pace. With a field this size, we may get 3/1. Also, exotics have to pay well in this race. I'll key him w/ #2 Captain Charisma cutting back, #3 Leavin in a Limo dropping in class, and #6 Trenton's a Tease who made a very nice middle move before tiring in his debut after being left for dead at start.
Race 2
#3 Devoted Magic has probably had enough time to recover from that monster race he ran 3 back, and will be tough, but probably non-bettable price. #7 Partywithlarryz at 6 1/2F's is just as fast as the #3 and may be the play at 4/1. Will also play these w/ #8 Lucky Honey who has faced multiple winners, and goes to red hot barn. I like Carava keeps him sprinting.
Race 3
#8 Pericia Fina was given a workout down the hill in her comeback race. This horse has no business sprinting, and this was nothing but a prep. Now, what got me excited is the ridiculous gallop out. Turning for home, she was fanned out of the picture about 10 wide. Got straightened out and lugged in all w/out being asked. At the wire, Baze was already standing up on the horse. However, she was impossible to pull up. The horse was weaving through traffic on the gallop out and showed off her long powerful stride. She will LOVE the 1 1/8 she gets today. Baze stays aboard for what should be huge price. Will also use w/ the #2 Annie Skates who is clearly the class of the race and chased in a race that ended up being a merry-go-round finish.
Race 4
Probably not going to do much here, but the 2 horses I'll keep my eye on for prices is the #1 Leavenworth w/ that work pattern, and the #3 Temerity who's replay I liked. Didn't looked fully cranked for the comeback, but has a lot of try and talent and the extra distance should help. Nice work pattern since last race.
Race 5
I'm not going to get fancy here, can't get away from #1 Starry Pursuit and #3 Foxy Danseur
Race 6
Wide open race. Very nice breeding and I like the speed of the #1 Hannah’s Classy Boy, a player at a nice price. I'll also being trying to blow up the board w/ a huge longshot in #5 Warrens Attack Cat. Be looking at the 1,4,5,6,7,12 in the race and if there is enough big prices involved w/ those, probably be tri boxing.
Race 7
This is not a walkover. There is an EXTREMELY talented filly in here at a very nice price and that is #3 Miss Silver Brook..Huge stride on this girl who is going to love the 2 turns. She exploded late w/out much ask and the gallop out was incredibly impressive. She blew by them and just kept going w/ those big strides of hers.
#1 Stardom Bound a huge favorite and the obvious horse to beat.
Race 8
#2 Runforthedoe is a great Longshot horse. Obviously talented, and yet to run at what should be his best distance like we see today. The 2 turns should definitely help this one...I'll make #10 Limestone Edge the horse to beat at 6/1. Been facing much, much better than the rest of these, and has been competitive in all those races. This is the softest field he's faced this year by far.
Race 9
#1 Ventura is so sharp right now, very hard to pick against. #4 Hewitts is a horse that could sit the perfect stalking trip, and at big odds has a real nice chance to hit the board or maybe spring the big upset. #7 Dixie Chatter another at a nice price that could be sitting on a big race at what should be his best distance.
Race 10
BOMBS AWAY!!!!
I think I could see at least 60/1 on my horse. Amazing sometimes what a little thing to do to make a good horse a great horse. Such as blinkers. Such as the case w/ the #10 Cause. Completely different animal w/ the blinks, and this horse is dieing for the 1/ 1/4 distance. Nobody in the Strub Stakes was moving better at the wire than Cause, and this after Trevor called at the top of the lane "Cause now giving up ground". Got beat less than 2 lengths. Gets 7 lbs off and carries 110. Should be a huge, huge price. (was 120/1 in last).
1W + 2xP + 4xS bet structure fine w/ me in a field this size.
Race 11
Wide, wide open. Really no clue.
GL Everyone!!
