I was discussing this with a friend tonight. We are pretty far apart.
How many people in the world that are not betting for a sportsbook, have more than $1 million combined on the Super Bowl? My friend thinks less than 5. I think 20 or more. Who's right?

Does this include EV of the players involved in the game? :)

no, just wagers, no commercial issues or anything of that nature.

Somewhere in between. I'd make the line 13.5.

I also vote in-between.

I vote over but I might be biased. FWIW, I'm about half way there and I don't consider myself to be among the biggest bettors on the planet. We are counting props aren't we? Keep in mind there will also be donks like Charles Barkley that bet a mill on it just cuz...

This is what I was thinking too. Plus, there are many asian players out there that none of us know about. They may not usually play NFL games, but they may play the SB.
But from the few responses in this thread, looks like Ed's line would get two-way action.

chaperone,
i read the article that was posted about you. you said you had close to 1 mill bankroll at this point. You put over half your bank roll on this one game? I assume 95 percent of that or higher is you buying back stuff? if not, surprised you would put half of you BR on one game, but that's obviously your business.

Phil Ivey said in an interview that he was putting 1 million down at the Beligio. Didn't say which side he was on.

Actually I've had a big losing streak since then, so it's more than half. Maybe I'm crazy, but there are a lot of good props out there, even for someone as unsophisticated as me. Also keep in mind with the way the ML and spread are in this game, you can often justify betting 25% of BR playing for a middle alone. Granted the bigger the BR, the harder it is to get that kind of money down at good numbers. I haven't bet either yet, but I'm guessing I'll have about 10% of BR down on PIT ML and AZ +7ish by kickoff.

for the record, not saying you are unsophisticated, not at all. definitley value to be found, no doubt. good luck, and hopefully you can hit your middle if you go that route.
